Nicolás Faunes Carvallo

He began his music studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, obtaining a bachelor's degree in 1999 and the title of flute performer in 2001 with maximum distinction. Then, thanks to scholarships from the French and Chilean governments, between 2005 and 2011, he continued his training at the École Normale de Musique de Paris «Alfred Cortot» obtaining higher diplomas in traverse flute, instrumental teaching and chamber music in classes by Pierre-Yves Artaud, Devy Erlih and Nina Patarcec. He has performed concerts, along with various groups in France, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, Peru and throughout Chile. As former member of L'Orchestre de Flûtes Français, he has premiered works by composers such as Jindrich Feld, Doina Rotaru and Yoko Kubo among others; he has performed on stage, along with performers such as: Andras Adorjan, Clara Novakova and Chryssi Dimitriou. He has recorded ten albums and has collaborated on several others. Currently, he works as a transverse flute and chamber music teacher at the Teatro del Lago School of the Arts, where he is also the solo flute of its Resident Ensemble. In this context, he has had the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as: Daniel Rohn, Alessandra Ferri and Emmanuel Ceysson.
