The Alimapu Orchestra was born in Valparaíso, in February 2017 with the purpose of helping the victims of the forest fires, which affected the south central zone of Chile. In 2019, by formalization, the Pacific Philharmonic Association was founded, whose purpose is to ensure the interests of the orchestra.
Today the "Alimapu Orchestra" is a professional, self-managed and autonomous musical project that contributes to human development, cultural dissemination and innovation of musical programs; breaking traditional western symphonic paradigms; implementing repertoire of different periods and genres in symphonic format, emphasizing Latin American and Chilean music. Currently, they work with at least six committees, which are dedicated to promoting values, such as: inclusion and gender equality at the administrative and music levels.
